Emyli??

This might be old news... but I just found out that Emyli is signed with Up-Front Works.

So recently we found out Goto Maki has just announced her graduation from H!P and that her contract with UFA apparently ends next year.

But hey! If Gocchin wants to go for a more sexy look outside of H!P, why can't she work with Emyli's production team? Better yet, why can't she team up with m-flo to release a few hip hop pop orientated singles? Or make a new group with Emyli?

Sure, Emyli isn't as successful as Gocchin, but it seems like she wants to go into the type of music that Emyli is already classified in. There's already ties to m-flo, which i think are great producers/composers/writers. And Emyli speaks english! So she could add some international flavour.

And working with Gocchin could potentially boost up her sales anyways. I think she deserves more than to be one of those girls that sings on the side with rappers.

I wish that could happen...

Deja Vu?

It seems that H!P has decided to try their old tactics with creating new groups. It seems like H!P is trying to simulate the success they had experienced with Mini Moni and Pucchi Moni.

Buono! Was recently created. When I listen and look at this video, I have a feeling that this is where Pucchi Moni would have eventually ended up if they didn't go on hiatus. The song is really... "cool". It's not your typical bubble gum pop song. Pucchi Moni was always considered the "cool" group when compared to Mini Moni and Tanpopo.

The song is upbeat and has rock elements to it. Continuing on with the cool theme, they're using the rocker image. Pucchi Moni's cool image was based on the school girl look. Buono! has a more updated rocker school girl image which I think suits the song a lot. The dancing style reminds me a lot of Pucchi Moni as well. Very smooth and cool looking. Not necessarily "sexy" like some of the other dances we've been seeing in H!P. Hopefully Buono! will be as successful and popular as Pucchimoni when they had their second generation line up. It's the kind of song that could win back H!P some of their female fans and gain more attention from younger listeners.

It has been awhile now since Risa Niigaki had taken over Tsuji's role of Athena. And now she's recently released a single with Aika, Chisato, and Saki. Obviously the anime is aimed for young children, and this line up reminds me a lot of Mini Moni.

The song is very... "cutesy" and Risa's commentary at the beginning of the song reminds me of Marippe in
Morning Musume no Hyokkori Hyoutan-jima.

As we can see, H!P is trying to win back their younger audience through the creation of Buono! and the Risa et company group. And they're trying to do this using the old Pucchi Moni, Mini Moni formula. It's about time. H!P has been focusing too much on the sexy and they should be going back to the cute and cool. Sexy is appealing, but since the majority of H!P is young girls, they should try to stick to the cool/cute formula to attract a wider range of fans.

First Blog

Well after years of reading blogs, I decided to start a blog of my own.

No one's probably reading this... but this will be where I'll express my feelings on today's J pop music and media. Since none of my friends listen to it. lol.

Hopefully I will attract some readers...
